Abstract

With environmental awareness growing by the day, it is not surprising that a number of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in India are increasingly adopting green technologies. Eco-friendly disposal of industrial waste and e-waste management have become interest areas in SME circles. Increased exposure to environment-friendly solutions is prompting small companies to adopt green technologies and resort to non-polluting modes of production. The change in the attitude of Indian industrial sector has been observed as they are under constant pressure to adopt environmentally green and clean technologies. To study and analyze the awareness level of SME’s owner/managers on environmental issues, their environmental practices, pressures/motivations affecting the environmental practices of SMEs and challenges visualized by the SMEs in going green, a primary study was conducted. in Agra District.
