The focuses of my thesis is to explore the Diasporic sensibilities in the two novels of Bharathi Mukherjee, Desirable Daughters and Jasmine. Through this investigation I am discussing about Diaspora, Diasporic writers and Bharathi Mukherjees Diasporic Experiences.
Mukherjee’s disaporic conciousnes spreaded over her novels. Generally, with this study of diaspora each immigrants has been differ from their way of adoption to the host country / land. In that, they were suffered by the cultural conflicts, feel of nostalgia, trauma and get struggle to adop. But here, by the study of her two novels, her characters are slightly differ from other immigrants. Mukherjee’s women characters wants to forget their past and willing to accept the host land as their homeland. So here I investigate two novels by their way of adoption/ way of belongingness.
