The intention behind introducing English communication skills for engineering students is to make them industry ready in two ways: one – to present the technical knowledge gained in their engineering course and two – to carry out the internal and external communication (orally and written) with the decency and decorum required for the corporate life. However, at the time of recruitment, most of the companies complain about the students’ inability to communicate their technical knowledge and also exhibit their communication competence. Hence, it is proven that there is a gap between the industry expectation and the inputs given to the students as part of their professional course.
