Abstract: There are different aspirations in the life of a person and the person does his best to attain them. Sexuality is also one of the important aspects and its gratification is as necessary as any other facet of life. Some people are given to divergent forms of sexuality as rape, incest, necrophilia and sexual mutilation. Since, decency is required while fulfilling one’s endeavours, any sort of misconduct is unacceptable. Relatively, Child of God and American Psycho deal with two socially aberrant beings who reach the limits of violating the sexual norms of any society. Lester Ballard, the protagonist of the novel Child of God, is given to necrophilia and the narrative is teeming with the horrible incidents of this act. Patrick Bateman from American Psycho is another convict of sex crimes and his behaviour is more dreadful than Ballard’s as he rapes, tortures, mutilates and cannibalises his victims. The paper explores the source behind Ballard’s necrophilic desires as well as the complex sexuality of Bateman. Thus, an attempt is made to delve deep into the reasons that promote the sexually aberrant behaviour of these people.
