Abstract

Learning an unknown language should be a joyous matter. Though the process of acquiring a new language has some persistent methods, the learners wish the methods to be simple. The elements mentioned in this paper are useful for all ages of learners who have English as the second language and who do not focus on so far. In India, for the most of the students English language is treated as a subject of 50 or 100 marks. So, they are unable to use English language for spoken purpose. If the English language teacher provides some funny and interesting vocabulary tasks to the students, they can better understand that English is not a subject and it is a language like their mother tongue. The author of this paper has experimented certain funny tasks such as Palindromes, Portmanteaus, Anagrams etc. This paper illustrates how to conduct the above mentioned vocabulary activities. You may be unfamiliar with the mentioned titles but when those are incorporated in the classroom vocabulary activities; the students will understand the funny and interesting flavor lies in English Language.
