Abstract:  Indian English fiction has grown rich in recent times. Many sub-genres of Indian English fiction have emerged. Campus novel has emerged as one of the popular sub-genres of contemporary Indian English fiction. Most of the bestsellers in market today are campus novels. The campus novel vividly reflects perspective of modern youth of today. Modern youth seems to be affected by two contra-cultures—traditional values and Westernization, which is aptly shown in the novel. The novels also represent attitude, aptitude and lifestyles of present generation.  The paper attempts to provide details about nature of campus novels in India. The campus novel in India can be categorized into various types. The novel undertaken for the study is Keep Off the Grass by Karan Bajaj. These novels reflect the changes particularly cultural transformation which Indian society is going through since the beginning of the era of liberalization.
