The present paper attempts to draw parallels between the archetypal narratives in the Harry Potter movies and the Baahubali series. S.S Rajamouli’s Baahubali series is a two part bilingual epic fantasy and a box office record breaking Bollywood blockbuster. The Harry Potter movies, a cluster of eight movies on the other hand are based on the seven series novels by J.K Rowling. The author had planned a seven series novel from the beginning and gave the series a happy and satisfactory ending with the last novel. The latest addition to the series is Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. The official website Pottermore states that it is not a novel but is actually a script written by Jack Thorne fsor the West End stage Play. According to the official website of the play, it is currently being staged in two parts in Palace Theatre, London and the Lyric theatre in New York (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, harrypottertheplay). This piece of work uses the background of the Potter series and is being considered as a sequel to the series. It is a story (written by J.K Rowling, John Tiffany and Jack Thorne) with a time leap of nineteen years in the magical world of Harry Potter. Since the present paper focuses on analysing the archetypal narratives in the celluloid presentation of the Harry Potter Series, the last addition has not been taken into consideration. Also, for the sake of convenience, all the Harry Potter movies shall be considered as one entity i.e. the phrase Harry Potter movies would indicate the entire cluster of eight parts.
