Abstract:

Since the ancient times matriarchal community is assessed submissive and unassertive to men. In the male dominated world women have been suppressed, tortured, humiliated and exploited in every sphere of life. Generally they are divested from their essential rights. Many a time they fall victim under the rigid customs, affliction, orthodoxy and many more that have been designed by society. It is reckoned that with the beginning of postmodern era women see the world with different perspectives. They began to ascertain the causes of their confinement, and to get all the answers, they use different ways such as writings, movements and new institutions. As well as in Indian literature most of the women chose writings as their tool to unfold the social evils and prevailing filthy conventions and present themselves before the world as the custodians of the women community.

Key Points: Feminism, Suffering, Postmodernism, Movement, Society, Individuality, Marital relationship, Psychological trauma.
