Transgenders are facing several problems related to social adjustment and also feel isolation from all parts of society .They face lack of family support and social exclusion due to their gender status .Due to social stigma, isolation, mental anguish, physical discomfort, or infertility, many transgender individuals never seek help.They have increased chances of Mental health problems, Physical health problems, High risk for drug and alcohol abuse, suicide or attempt suicide etc. Today so many transgenders are not expressing their identity as a transgender due to the attitude of the society. This research paper focus on of Self-esteem among tansgenders. Descriptive research design was used by the researcher for the study. The target group was TGs in Kollam with a sample size 60.Snowball sampling method was adopted in the study as the Transgenders suggested other respondents. The Rosenberg self-esteem scale (RSES) was used as the tool for data collection. The major findings of the study was majority of the transgenders are facing problems at public place, schools, hospitals , and so on .Most of the transgender are talented but nobody has accept their abilities and always reject them from the mainstream of the society .Self esteem make a profound effect on a person’s happiness, desires, emotions, thinking ,values, and goals .The transgender are always suffering from low self-esteem so the laws must be implemented for the protection and welfare of the transgender and it make them to main stream of the society.
