Education is known as vehicle to bring social change and advancement. It is the first and foremost condition to become modernized. Vocational interests of the students are also affected by the educational level of the students specifically in the transitional phase as they proceed from secondary to higher secondary stage. In the present manuscript, a comparative study is made between the attitude towards modernity and vocational interests of the students studying at secondary and higher secondary level of education. The study was conducted on hundred-hundred students of secondary and senior secondary classes of Ghaziabad district. ’Comprehensive Modernization Inventory ’developed by Dr. S. P. Ahluwalia and Dr. A.K. Kalia was used for measuring attitude towards modernity and S. P. Kulshrestha’s Vocational Interest Record was used to measure the vocational interests of the students. Findings indicate that no significant differences were found in attitude towards modernity of the students studying at secondary and higher secondary level, while significant differences were found in their vocational interests in four areas that are scientific ,executive, artistic and social. In rest of the areas that are literary, commercial, constructive, agriculture, persuasive and household, no significant difference was found.
