ABSTRACT

Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941), India’s first Nobel Laureate, was a man of myriad vision rooted in Universal vision. The present paper is a study of the spiritual values in the works of Tagore if included in the Education system in the modern Era of the degrading value in the individual and society as a whole, the teachings through Tagore’s vast work can be a perennial source of inspiration with their values to motivate an individual as a human being first, deep-rooted in spiritualism. His work can be an eye opener for the students and enlighten (spiritually) to achieve higher goals in life. The paper focuses on Tagore’s taking the ‘micro’ unit of life and taking it into a ‘macro’ unit nourishing and enlightening the spirit of raw minds into a ripened one, subduing the mind with a sense and realization of oneness with Him and this method prepares a better society to live in.
