Abstract

The ability to express shades of feelings becomes the distinctive feature that differentiates human beings from animals. The fear of shame stifles human from pursuing what he/she really wants in life because the predominant state of feeling humans wants to escape is the shame. This paper attempts to look at how the fear of shame helps in constructing the relationship between the sane and the insane with the help of Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf and .Em and the big Hoom. by Jerry Pinto.
