Abstract

The Mother I Never Knew is a poignant story. It was written by Sudha Kulkarni Murthy,
a Padma Shri awardee. This novel is about two individuals Venkatesh and Mukesh. Both the
stories are not linked with each other. Both individuals are searching for a mother they knew had.
The second story Mukesh consists of 11 sub -divisions.
Mukesh is a young man, son of Krishna Roa and Sumathi. Mukesh parents wanted him to
join the family business, but he surprised them by studied history, language and art and become
working as programme executive at BBC at London where he is responsible for covering India's
cultural and heritage section.
Mukesh was married with her wife vasanthi in bangalore. Blue was his favorite color and
so his first gift to his wife Vasanthi had been a blue saree. Vasanthi hated blue color and could
not tell him that since it was first gift to her. Mukesh quickly understood her feelings behind that
and moved to pink saree.
