Immigrant writers have played an important role in the shaping of American literature since the dawn of the nation’s history. Their contribution has made America a country of distinctive culture. Indian immigrant writers have immensely contributed to the growth of fiction in English. While commenting on the significance of Indian immigrant writers, Stephen aptly says:
