Abstract

Indian literature begins its life by holding the hands of religion, which is amalgam of
history, culture, myth and spirituality. The revolution of Indian history hinge on the patterns of
culture and morality, has underpinned in religion. In Indian writing in English, the body and
structure may be in English but the spirit is filled with the soul of Indian culture and tradition.
As an outcome, every piece of work has the shades of Indian caste system. This caste system
was a phenomenon of global one, which plays its role with different name in different country
such as racial discrimination, class distinction, identity crisis, religion, and ethnicity. These
issues are globally accepted and took as a theme in all literature works. The ethics and norms
of religion in India, interchange its mortal part Caste system according to the sovereignty. It is
a concrete happening that past culture, tradition, trend and thought always has its emergence
in present. In contemporary literature, writers of India started to give rebirth to their religious
myth and great epics like Ramayana, Mahabharatha, Sivapuranam and so on. The
contemporary mythological writers are Amish Tripathi, Anand Neelakatan, Devadutt
Pattanaika, Sharath Komarraju, Shamik Dasgupta and Krishna Udayashankar. These writers
consciously disguised the epic gods as mortal mythological heroes for their contemporary
readers. Myth is an inherited story has its origin in ancient time and believed by a particular

cultural group. It always emanate the interest among readers through the creative process which
was real or unreal but it kindle the interest of human mind and souls to latch on it. Through this
myth, Amish Tripathi brings out the evil existence in human mind by the reason of caste. Caste
born into the world to preserves the evil. Indian culture and tradition known for its
profoundness and ideals, it produces a unique identity but the obscure part in this great nation
called untouchables. The interpretation of this paper is to epitomize the idea of ethics and norms
formulated in caste system was transformable for the happiness of victimize, the lower caste
people which discussed through the works of Amish’sThe Immortals of Meluha and The Secret
of the Nagas
