Abstract

God created each and every human being in relational harmony with Himself and each other. Sin destroys affection, violates relationships, causing separation, which leads to estrangement. Barriers arise and consequently oneness is lost. As per Gospel, first receive forgiveness from God through Christ and then forgive others. Forgiveness is somehow related to love. Forgiveness fosters one’s growth; non-forgiveness shuts one’s down. Love requires a certain emotional and spiritual maturity, in order to forgive fully. Toni Morrison’s Beloved which is full of allusions to the Bible deals with it poignantly.
