Abstract

The study investigated challenges teachers face in the effective assessment of the Affective and Psychomotor domains of pupils in Primary Schools in Kenema City.  A total of one hundred teachers were used for the study.  Data were collected through the use of questionnaires and were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics at 5% confidence level.   Results as analyzed indicated that there were flaws in the qualifications, assessment techniques/instruments, school facilities and conduciveness in school learning environment.  It is recommended that workshops, in-service training and seminars be conducted as to correct defects in assessment processes of the Affective and Psychomotor domains.  Also, the Ministry of Education should provide teaching/learning materials, improve on teaching/learning environments, provide appropriate and adequate facilities and award scholarship to teachers for further study.
