Abstract

In a bilingual Language setting like India, communication is possible in two or more languages with lesser/greater degree of proficiency. Students from regional background quite often seem to have difficulty with their writing in English. The present article makes an  attempt  to find out whether regional medium students find it problematic to write in English if not in their L1. For this purpose, two tests in writing, one in English and the other in Telugu have been conducted for degree level, regional medium students to evaluate their writing skills at both L1 and L2 level.
