1. What is SMJI?

SMART MOVES JOURNAL IJELLH (SMJI) is a distinguished, peer-reviewed, and open-access academic journal dedicated to the fields of English Language, Literature, and Linguistics.
Previously, it was published under the title International Journal of English Language, Literature in Humanities (IJELLH).

2. Is SMJI a peer-reviewed journal?

Yes. All manuscripts submitted to SMJI undergo a double-blind peer-review process to maintain academic integrity and scholarly excellence.

In the published certificate, it is explicitly stated that the journal operates as a peer-reviewed publication.

3. Is the journal refereed? I am filling my data in Samarth Portal which is faculty recruitment in Central Universities.

A refereed journal, also known as a peer-reviewed journal, is a scholarly publication in which articles are evaluated by experts in the field prior to their acceptance for publication.

4. Will I receive an Academic Performance Indicator (API) score if I publish in SMJI?

Yes. As SMJI is a peer-reviewed journal, authors are eligible to claim API scores as prescribed by the University Grants Commission (UGC), India.

5. Will my article receive a DOI?

Yes. Every published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure it is permanently accessible and globally citable.

6. How can I submit my research paper to SMJI?

SMJI currently accepts electronic submissions only via email. Please send your manuscript to:

7. What is the frequency of publication?

SMJI is a monthly journal, publishing 12 issues annually.

8. What subjects or areas does SMJI accept papers on?

SMJI welcomes research papers on a wide range of subjects, including:

9. Can I submit a co-authored paper?

Yes. Co-authored papers are encouraged. All listed authors must meet the authorship criteria.
There is no additional fee for co-authors for online or print publication.
However, if a co-author requests an individual paperback copy and certificate, a fee of INR 1500 applies (including printing and courier charges).

11. Is there a publication fee?

Yes. A nominal publication fee is applicable after acceptance of the manuscript.

12. Do I receive a certificate after publication?

Yes. Authors receive:

  • An e-certificate for online publication
  • print certificate and paperback copy (if opted) within a few days of publication

13. Is SMJI an open-access journal?

Indexing and Recognition

14. Is SMJI UGC CARE listed?

SMJI was listed in the UGC CARE List until May 2019.
Currently, it is not included in the UGC CARE List but remains indexed in various recognized databases.

15. Where is SMJI indexed?

SMJI is indexed in the following scholarly platforms:

  • ResearchGate
  • Other recognized academic repositories

16. Why can’t I find my article on Google Scholar?

Google Scholar uses automated bots (“crawlers”) to index articles. SMJI uses Open Journal Systems (OJS), which is fully compatible with Google Scholar.

Indexing in Google Scholar can take up to 6 months after publication.

18. Can I join as a reviewer or editorial board member?

Yes. Scholars with strong academic credentials (Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Academia.edu profiles, etc.) are welcome to apply.
