Abstract

This paper focuses on how education can empower women and improve their lives, while also relating these ideas to the vision of Amrita Pritam, who presented women as voices of strength and transformation. Empowering women through education is very important for building a fair and equal society. As stated in the ICPD Programmer of Action, education gives women knowledge, skills, and confidence to take part in development. In India, women still face discrimination from birth to death, and they are often treated as less important in many areas of life. In the writings of Amrita Pritam, women are shown as strong yet deeply affected by social injustice. Her stories reflect the pain, silence, and struggle of women, but also their courage to question society. Education becomes a powerful tool in this journey, helping women gain awareness and independence. Although women play a major role in society, many are still unable to use their rights freely. Women’s empowerment in India depends on factors like education, caste, class, age, and whether they live in rural or urban areas. Even though many policies exist, there is a clear gap between planning and real change.
