Abstract

Khandakavyas - These are minor poems which have just a fraction of the characteristics of a
mahakavya. A poet finds better scope to express his feelings lie love, joy, grief, etc in a lyric.
Rather than the story part an incident or the feeling is important here. The musical metre,
covetable words, novelty of suspense, fertile imagination, tenderness of feelings, the musical
harmony of the verses make a lyric most captivating the heart. The lyrical poetry may be
