Abstract

Earth is a flimsy network of interconnected systems that have developed gradually over the last 4.5 billion years or so. Earth maintains an ecological balance, so how is that humans have come to dominate nature? This paper is an attempt to explore the representation of nature in Margaret Atwood’s dystopian fiction Oryx and Crake. Unlike the conventional dystopias, Canadian dystopian fiction emphasizes on nature as its central theme. The novel pictures the heightened and adverse effects of science on nature and natural world. The paper a3s6 traces the eco-critical elements in the novel Oryx and Crake
