The infliction of psychic scars of slavery and the disruption of domestic harmony in Gayle Jones’ novel Corregidora.

Abstract

Gayle Jones,an African -American Novelist,Poet,Playwright,Professor and Literary Critic is one of the great writers and  of the second half of the 20^th century. She is also one of the most infuriating writers of the century.Jones has written four novels till date-Corregidor,Evas Man,Mosquito,The Healing. Many of the themes in her novels are from her African American heritage as well as her own personal life and struggles.In general her novels address the human capacity for redemption and regeneration.
